Google is ready to bring an eighth platform with more than 1 billion users to its portfolio.

The business announced at the Google Cloud second seminar in San Francisco that the milestone would be reached”after this week,” without clarifying which day exactly, but nonetheless the information is impressive.

Google generally keeps it quiet concerning the cloud service. Last year at the Google I/O seminar it was declared there are more than 2 trillion files and more than 800 million active users. This year’s I/O did not disclose any amounts, probably to have something to woo the crowd at Google Cloud Next.

In the previous 12 months, Google has been expanding Drive capacities with more business-driven capabilities. Team Drives and Drive File Stream is for companies, while all users received machine-learning features. There is also Drive-centric backup and sync application for all PC and Mac users.
